This paragraph isn’t from some poem or play but The Hanuman Chalisa. Hanuman Chalisa is a composition written by Saint Goswami Tulsidas. Tulsidas has also composed The Tulsi Ramayana (Ramcharitamanasa). It is said that Tulsidas was very ill when he wrote Hanuman Chalisa, and it helped him regain his health and made his faith more substantial in the power of Lord Hanuman.
The Hanuman Chalisa consists of 40 verses dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The Hanuman Chalisa is composed in Awadhi (Awadhi is also known as Oudhi, an eastern Hindi language of the Indo-Aryan branch spoken in the northern part of India). Awadhi was spoken in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama. Before we read about the miracle experiences of Hanuman Chalisa, let’s see what its meaning is and the significance behind it.
