Motivational Speech
Hello everyone,
I will not dive into the philosophy or lecture you, but I will tell you the importance of discipline.
Dreams that you have, do you know how people achieve them? What made them reach there? It is discipline. Discipline is waking up in the wee hours of the morning and working towards your goal, even when you feel demotivated. It is consistency that will make you reach where you want to be.
In the military, they ask you to wake up at 4 AM, not 4:01, but exactly 4. The soldiers’ day begins with running for miles and climbing on uneven terrains. Why do they do that? They do so because discipline is necessary on the battlefield. War can break out anytime, and a sloppy, lazy body will not get you through it.
The military teaches you that a healthy body, lifestyle, and life come from discipline.
All great people achieved great things because they followed a routine and they were consistent. Young students like you must know that small habits can actually have a huge impact on your future. Nothing will go to waste if you decide to study for your test months before the actual day.
All the great personalities we know have been practitioners of the art of discipline. People like Bill Gates, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Charles Darwin, and Albert Einstein became successful. Marie Curie hardly slept because her passion for chemistry didn’t let her. Now, I do not want you to skip sleep, but I am saying that getting what you want sometimes gives you sleepless nights. You sometimes sacrifice certain comforts to meet what you truly want. It is really cozy and warm if you stay in the blanket, but life begins when you decide to get out of it.
The path to success is discipline. Without it, we lose our focus, find it difficult to fulfill our goals, and start living without direction or purpose. It brings stability into your life. You become calm and composed, preparing you for all life situations.
I’ll share two types of discipline that can be practiced – self-discipline and induced discipline. Students are more inclined towards induced discipline. But self-discipline is the best form. You have to understand this and put this in place into your life. You start valuing time, setting boundaries, and focusing on important things.
Yes, there will be teething troubles when you choose this path, but once it sets in your system, you become unstoppable. So, today when you go back home, I want you all to set your alarm clocks and ditch all the laziness. Small steps lead to bigger destinations. Do not give up.
Thank you.
