Detailed Review ->
Appearance:
The Philips Hue Centris is not a light you purchase and place in a room. It is a permanent fixture that must be fitted on the ceiling. This limits your flexibility a bit, but the superb design covers up for it. It blends nicely with most kinds of decor but may not be suitable if you are going vintage/antique. The Centris boasts a contemporary and streamlined appearance, and it’s composed of the finest elements with superior finishing.
Installation Difficulty:
You may assume a few characteristics of the product with such a premium price. The Philips Hue Centris is simple and easy to install, requiring only two holes in the ceiling. The mounting plate is attached to it. The hook, as well as other mounting components on that metal bar, ensures that the lamp does not tumble down. Hence, the product is safe.
HUE App (Used to control Lights) :
The Philips Hue Centris is controlled through the Hue app, which is available for Both Android and iOS. If you already use Hue lights, all you have to do now is add new lights to the Hue application, and you’re set. If you don’t already have the app, it’s as simple as installing it, making a profile, and connecting the lights. When the Hue Centris is switched on, it will appear in the app.
The Centris symbol is applied to all lamps so that they may be identified quickly. You may label each area/light, and if you wish to use the Centris as a single lamp, you can group all lamps into one zone, such as ‘dining.’ This makes it even easier to turn on or off the whole Centris lamp. You can also use a Hue device like the Dimmer Switch to control the Centris. With the Dimmer Switch, you can rapidly switch various settings or adjust the illumination if the Centris lights are connected in one zone.
Overall, the hue app is well designed and we did not notice any bugs or issues while using it. The functionality provided is also quite good and does a lot more than completing its basic purpose.
Light quality:
Because the lights have a matte sheet in front of them, the light is practically never irritating to the eyes until you gaze straight into them. In general, the light is soft and delicate. The light settings are fantastic. If you choose the Savanna sunset, two lamps will become red, and two will change to yellow. And if you select Arctic Dawn, the colors of the light change to turquoise and blue, while for Spring Flower, the light shade changes to two varieties of pink.
