With the encouragement of Brent’s winter visitor parents, the Steiners made a bold move and opened their first store, Steiner’s Amish Furniture, in Sun City in 2000. Today, their business has grown to a 15,000-square-foot showroom filled with a wide variety of furniture styles, including transitional, mission, shaker, modern, and midcentury modern.

Unlike many furniture retailers that outsource their products, Steiner’s Amish Furniture works directly with about 150 builders in Ohio and Indiana. These builders have different specialties in crafting dining, living room, and bedroom furniture, and everything is handcrafted in the United States. The Steiners take pride in the fact that they bring the furniture to their own finish shop before delivering it to customers’ doors, ensuring that every piece meets their high standards of quality.
“We work with about 150 builders in Ohio and Indiana,” says Pamela Sanchez with Steiner’s Amish Furniture. “We have them build the furniture to customers’ specifications. We bring it to our finish shop and truck it here. We deliver it to everybody’s door. It’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it because it’s quality furniture. One of the things the Amish pride themselves on is that they hand-craft everything. It’s worth it.”
